PART 13

The BUG is within arm's reach, but I'm sore all over and can't move. What's worse, something is clearly approaching us from behind the bushes!

No matter what's coming, I'm sure it's nothing good!

Before long, two hideous creatures emerged from the bushes!

Despite their small size, the sharp teeth and spikes on their backs are telling me: these two are trouble!

The monsters are coming towards me, what should I do? With only my right hand barely functional, I struggle to reach for my gun...

Damn it! Where's my gun?! Could it have been shaken loose when I rolled down the hill just now? Talk about adding insult to injury!

As I hesitate, contemplating whether to play dead, one of the monsters approaches me and opens its mouth towards my head!

Even if my helmet can withstand this bite, what about the next one? The second bite, the third... or will they start biting elsewhere on my body? I dare not think further!

Suddenly, a piercing electronic sound emits from the BUG!

The monsters are startled by the sound and immediately run towards the BUG!

Was it the residual battery that temporarily activated the BUG? Who knows, all I know is that it's come to my aid once again!

Poor BUG, now all the monsters' attention is focused on it!

I'm really worried that the monsters might treat the BUG the same way they've treated me, but thankfully they seem to be just curious, poking and prodding at it...

Perhaps I should make some noise to distract the monsters' attention? But I dare not... Hopefully, these guys will get tired of playing and leave on their own!

However, I underestimated the monsters' interest in BUG. One of the monsters actually picked up BUG and disappeared into the bushes, with the other closely following...

What's going on?! Where are they taking BUG?

After a while, my body gradually regains mobility, so I struggle to get up, searching around for my lost gun...

It fell onto a nearby rock, completely intact, just disturbing some natives.

Carefully, I pick up the dropped gun, shaking off the tentacle creatures clinging to it; they don't seem dangerous.

Since I've retrieved my gun, it's time to reclaim BUG! On this unfamiliar planet, I need BUG's companionship and assistance. Whatever awaits me ahead, I have no choice but to proceed down this path!
